Dean And Dale Enjoy A Feast At Ardlethan Picnics

By Mark Brassel

Jockey Dylan Dean and trainer Andrew Dale combined to land half the program at Saturday's Ardlethan picnic races conducted for the first time at Narrandera Racecourse.

Dean guided Copperfield ($2.10 favourite) to a narrow win in the feature race, the Nutrien Ag Solutions Ardlethan Picnic Cup (1600m).

The gelding just beat Notes (Ashley Boyd, $4) with another Dale-trained galloper Parabelum (Paul Zerafa, $6) five lengths away in third spot.

For the win Copperfield earned his first points (10pts) in the 2024/25 NSW Picnic Champion Series.

However, Copperfield is still a good way off the Mont Waters-trained leader Namarari (37pts) who picked up two points for finishing fourth to Copperfield.

Dean and Dale's other winners were Vonk ($4) and Can Do Canto ($2.50 fav) in races one and three respectively.

The next chance to earn points will be at TULLIBIGEAL PICNICS on Saturday 29th March.

PICNIC SERIES POINT SCORE
37 - Namarari
30 - Billy Bent Ear, Laisvas
26 - Real Salty
24 - Rebel Love
20 - Media Chick
